SEO and Podcasting

Over the last number of months I have taken to writing articles with a vengance and on a numerous amount of topics from SEO to Web Design, Bus Tours to Flower Arranging, Everything to Anything with a little bit inbetween to help build online profiles of companies and gaining sought after one-way back links to clients' sites.

Now I'm going to let you in on the next big thing for marketing your site for the search engines. Podcasts! That's right! Podcasts! So, dust down those old and curled articles that you wrote yonks ago and forgot about - buy yourself a new michrophone - and start recording. Get them hosted asap on your site or one of the popular podcast sites - get your keyword in the title and bingo - your about to tap into a whole new plethora of one-way back-links not including the stampede to your site as the added bonus.

SEO just got Audio.

Paul

Following on from the podcast post above I came across the page which goes into a lot more detail about setting up a podcast for your site and how best to optimize it for the Search Engines:

Search Engine Optimization for Podcasts

As a side note is it something that ASP Free or even Devshed have thought about - turning there articles into Podcasts?

thank you for posting this. I just made my first podcast for my site. It was an interview with an industry expert about leasing. I have posted it on my site in mp3 format, as well as in a flash player. I will be reading on how to submit it to other places for more links. Thanks.

For clarification, is it considered a podcast just by being in mp3 format, or does it need to have sections ala an audio CD? Mine is just a straight recording of about 30 minutes.

It was around 40, but I trimmed it back. Is there a program I should be using to create tracks on the audio file? I am unfamiliar with how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

I have posted the audio on my website as a Telephone Leasing Interview. If there is a better way to load it, format it, etc, I am open for suggestions. This is a new area for me, but I think it is a great tool to have both audio and video on your site for content.
