Do I dare set myself up for the ultimate constructive criticisms?

Well, I just want you guys to rate me on the Site Layout for now as I don't have any content yet.

Whatever you got, throw it at me.

I am not sure about other people and I cannot read any of your text but at a guess i would say the site is supposed to be selling something. And in that as a customer why would I be interested in your sites validation? it am not saying that your site should not be validated and commend you in doing so, but the two links at the bottom under the title have nothing to do with the site, as a customer I don't care if your sites validated all i care about id does it work? does it have info? is that info easy to find? i need and is it reliable? Your validation links are just possing and will confuse the customer that come to the site.

i do like the site it is clean and tidy but if you want to be picky then?

I like the eagle in your logo but the text and rest of the layout detracts from your impressive eagle, it seems a lot of work when into the eagle and none into the font for design of the logo.

Your site is very tidy and aligned very well but for no real reason except consistance i would like to see the menu bar come flush with bottom border of your text.

And your tonka png, well one its a png and its file size is 32.2 KB, if you convert that into a gif it then becomes 8.21KB a big difference, I would never use a png on a web page, always convert it to a gif or a jpeg, use the optomise facilites on your art packages it will increase loading times, and again your tonka trunk detracts from the hard work you put into the eagle.

I would like to see a bit more colour and texture in the design. but a good job keep it up.

None of the content on it right now will be on there when I'm done. The links and everything are just there right now to fill up space. Therefore I'm not worried about the PNG file.

As for the eagle, I agree - the rest of the layout does take away from it. I intend to make the eagle stick out some more.

Maybe a patterned background running underneath the blocks would lighten it up.

It looks a bit naked and obvious at the moment. Try aligning the logo with the paragraph text and include some heading styles to break up the monotiny of the text. It is hard to read, so increase the letter spacing back to normal.

You could try some different coloured font types outside the blue spectrum. Yellow and Orange for example.

Maybe a footer block which mirrors the header. Put a smaller version of the logo in it with all their contact details.

On the right hand side of the header, in big bold letters, put the phone number.

You need better photography, but I assume that is on its way. I would make the left link text smaller and make the eagle real life colour, not faded by blue.

The lists on the side make the text move out of place on a hover. You may want to check the horizontal padding and/or margins for those elements.

Remember to use a:link:hover {} rather than a:hover {} or li:hover {} for IE's sake
