Where is the problem here?

http://skipsonline.com

this is an asp.net ecommerce site i work on for my company. for some reason we are getting little to no purchases from it. we run a slew of other ecommerce sites with purchased carts, and they all do decent sales with less traffic, and worse layouts and prices. so somewhere in the ordering process we feel there is something screwed up on skips, wether it be technical or just not intuitive. and if of you can find such a problem during the ordering process please let me know, as its getting extremely frustrating. we have double checked our error logs and found nothing, and now we've rolled out a marketing campaign thats generating 250k hits a month... we need to get this thing fixed. thanks a lot!

Uhh, if I would have to say the biggest reason you're getting no business is because shipping option only says "Pickup at Skips"... I looked at a hammock and it only gave me 1 pickup option - I'm pretty sure it wouldn't cost too much to ship it to me! Basically until you get to "Yard and Garden Accents" it seems like everything must be picked up @ the store... And it doesn't even say where the store is while browsing...

The site does look very nice, clean layout. I like the dynamic pricing adjustment when you "option" an item. Also, many title tags are missing on detail pages - you're probably losing a lot of search coverage (not to mention looks unattractive). Another point that seemed strange was in Weathervanes it said "call now and save 15%"... That just seems odd, wouldn't it make better sense to have "buy now and save 15%" or "15% off limited time only!"...

Oh, ha ha just found probably the big F'er up'er... This one is huge. If I add an item to my shopping cart, and then continue shopping by pressing the "Skips" logo in the top left corner - my session gets dropped and my shopping cart gets cleared (the jumble of numbers & letters up in my Address field gets completely changed, I'm assuming thats my sessionID or something)... So that means I could be shopping for 20-30 mintues, press the button in the corner to go back to the homepage, and my whole cart is dropped. At that point I'm gone.

Hope this helps. Good luck ~Dave
