www.pepinierepierrefonds.com - css/asp/php/flash/js

Here's a site i've built just recently. Shadow Wizard helped me A LOT with the asp/aspx programming on this one, as well as many others on this forum.

The aspx components have been replaced all together with php due to runtime errors (sometimes it worked, sometimes it wouldn't) - which left me clueless. Also, the site is not validated.

Take a look, I think you'll find it interesting. And if you see any areas that need improving, please let me know. I always welcome criticism, whether it's harsh or not

A well tailored, coherent and thought out site, stacks of info, clean and lively imagery used throughout the site. Nice touch with the dual language option at the beginning.

The url doesnt roll of the toungue though, could lose some potential customers with typos in the address bar!

lol, I entirely agree with you about the address bar. Everytime I called customer support, I couldn't tell you how many times I was asked "can you repeat the address?" or "how do you spell that?".

I do like the site the graphics are nice and it is easy to navigate.

On the down side, I have a 2.2Mbps connection and it takes longer than i would like to first load in, plus loading between sections, also takes longer than i would like, so i was bored before i even got to the products description.

It might be better leaving the flashibation and none original effects behind and have a simpler but quicker system, although yes once you have seen it its's not that bad.

The other thing is it's very grey, with a site about the outdoors, fresh fruit, landscaping, i would like to have a much more airy feel.

And the last thing, one thing I really think is unproffesional looking is having an adminstration button on every page, people will take a look and i don't think it looks good, and gives hackers a place to start which is unecessary.

Nice work though.

Good luck

Hmm, those are some good points. Out of that, I'll remove the admin button. Also, I don't know if i'll remove the flash. When I tried regular rollovers, it usually took awhile before I would see the rollover image load....that's why I went with flash. As for the colors, I agree with you as well, but unfortunately that's just my style....a little dark.

I'm not sure what's slowing down the site though...maybe it's the weather script. I 'll have to do some tests. But thank you very much for your input...always appreciated.
