Hi,
I am planning to add the possibility to use MySQL with my own E-Commerce and CMS script, but before I begin I was wondering if anybody has some tips to do it as fast and good as possible. I am thinking of things I should be carefull of. I am now using Access and I am noticing that access is not the perfect database if SQL queries get more complicated. Thanks in advance, Arno (isya) |

Hi Arno
The easiest way is to buy a conversion tool that converts MS Access to MySql. Usually such tools offer separate products performing one-way conversion but if you put forth an effort you’ll find the one that gives the possibility to make two-way conversion. If you want a program to keep your MySql database synchronized to the Access database inquire about a synchronizing option. Automation of the conversion process and ability to run the program un-attended on a schedule would be useful. Also make sure you can get appropriate support level for resolving any issues you are experiencing with the software. This is no trivial matter as it seems at a glance. As for me I utilize Access2MySQL from http://data-conversions.net/ I tried demos of all the other Access to MySQL programs and this is by far the best. Regards, Michel |
