SQL Installation Problem
Hi everyone,
We're new to SQL and having a problem loading the software. We have win2k SP 2 on the server. When SQL 2k is loaded it fails during the MDAC install. We gathered information from Microsoft's web site on the MDAC install and followed those procedures but it still fails giving a generic Installtion failed, setup cannot continue error message. Please advise. |

W2K Pro or W2K Server? SQL Server requires a server os unless you are trying to install MSDE.

I don't know, maybe a permissions problem? I've never had a problem installing SQL Server on W2K Server. I believe there is an install log file created during the install that may give you some additional direction as to what's wrong.
