Absolute Beginners Corner
Just a thought.
How about somewhere where all the little things that always trip up the real beginners can be listed, so that they can hopefully find out what they're doing wrong? Yes, I am an absolute beginner. Example; I recently failed to get a function to operate because I failed to dim the appropriate variables - I'm presuming that that's what the things that are dimmed are called. Why did I fail to dim? Because I'm using Dreamweaver which pretty much does it for you - or doesn't, in this example. I imagine that it would have to work by means of some sort of a checklist, that the beginner could work through, but I've no idea really. I'm just throwing the idea into the mix. |

Just my .02, as I'm not the decision maker, but I think other sites do an excellent job of catering to beginners. Sites such as http://www.w3schools.com/ are designed to assist beginners with understanding the basics of various technologies.
I think what this site/forum does best is address the questions of ever skill level, without catering to any one in particular. There are just too many areas of a particular technology to cover for a "beginner", that it would deter from the true purpose of this site, which is to help everyone equally, without favoring anyone in particular. |
