Change in the Top Users System

I would like to suggest small change in the Top Users System:
if member has less than X reputation (e.g. 100 points) he/she
won't be nominated for Top User award.

Sounds reasonable?
Hopefully this is also easy to implement.

I agree some change needs to be made. Maybe not necessarily based on reputation points, but something.

that's the most proper way IMO: if someone has tons of posts and
low reputation, it means only one thing.

but now many users have rep power more than 100, if someone just give 1 time rep, then it might not b effective as per ur suggestion.

I guess there are few other options to limit this by, so perhaps reputation is the best method. Or, we could just 'vote out' certain members who contribute negatively

right, many have more than 100 and all of them are proper candidates
for Top User.. even if they're "new".
those who are not proper candidates currently have less than 0 reputation.

How about Rep Points / Posts?

I agree. To be a top anything you should have had to contribute something worthwhile.

We've recently had a number of new members who constantly post new threads, with virtually the same question or itteration of and they end up getting top poster awards. Don't know what the answer is...Maybe Mods could have some sort of veto before the results are posted.

But then again, does it really matter? I guess it's a bit like rep. In the end it becomes a bit meaningless....

of course it's meaningless, but still - it's here. so we better make
it work properly.

i agree with u RR, the Mods can have the last say in such things.
