Code Help Forum
Shadow; You've posted up saying you want to change the Code Help forum to an expamles forum as opposed to a problem forum.
Wouldn't it help to change the name of the forum to something a little more descriptive of it's new (Or old as it were) designation (i.e. call it Code Examples or Code Samples)? Something along those lines? Cheers, Dean |

They used to have a "CodeBank" area here that allowed us to post samples of performing certain tasks, but it wasn't used very much and people started posting questions in it, so they removed it.

here is the full description of the Code Help forum: Quote:
my logic was quite simple: we already have forums for all kinds of languages: ASP, .NET, client side, VB and more, with two "general" forums being Programming Help forum and the Free Lounge for non programming questions. thus, any problem with code can find its proper forum here. the Code Help forum became junk yard, with all kinds of questions. As I like order, I thought it would be for the best if I revive the original purpose of that forum... I'm aware that we have very few members who are going to actually post full code samples but as I have about 50 samples myself, that would be good start. indeed, changing the forum name to "Code Samples" would be good step, but it's not in my Powers... ![]() p.s. posting questions in there is good as long as they're posted as reply to the proper thread. new thread with its own problem can be moved to the proper forum. |

How about the area is only 'postable' for Moderators???

nah... members can also have useful codes and sometimes comments and questions are vital. I think that re-opening the Code Bank would be good enough and this time the moderators (me?) would keep sharp eye over it.

Fair play to you. I was attempting to save you work and keep it more like a well organised library. |

shadow i agree with u that if any new thread is there in which there is a question can b moved to related forum.
if anybody tried anybody's code and facing any problem then if not in that thread or forum, then they can mention a link to that particular thread and ask their question in the related forum in a new thread(if that makes sense?)!! |
