Noobs and Thread Titles
I was just thinking that since no one really seems to read the rules and guidelines on posting in the forums, why not put a brief reminder right above the title input box just to remind them? That way they can't say they didn't know because it's right in their face! Or also create a filter that prevents entering commonly used stupid subjects. I can't count on one hand how many times I've seen, "Please help this female newbie!"
Just my two-cents! ![]()

This would probably be better in the Forum Suggestions forum.
I like the idea, but I think noobs are always gonna be noobs.

If people are going to put stupid titles like the above i cant see reading the rules would help, but making them upfront can't harm u never know it might work

True, but sometimes every little bit helps. Quote:
Thanks elija, and that is very true. If I don't know what type of problem someone is having by looking at the title, I usually just go to the next one. Quote:

Yeah, we've suggested this at DS before, along with a whole lot of
other things, and the general concencus was that it won't make a jot of difference. It'll be just another page for the person signing up to click 'Yes, I've read it' on. I mean, let's face it - how many of you lot actually read the rules of the forum on the 'register' page when you signed up, instead of just clicking on the 'Yes, I agree' button...? I know I didn't... ![]() Quote:

lol neither did I. I was speaking more along the lines of putting the notice on the page that the user posts from,(ie. newpost.php), right in front of their face before they type that thread title in. But hey, I came up with this idea late at night, I needed something to BS about Cheers |

ok, here is what i think we should do
Make them read the rules etc and then test them on it, they have to get at least 90% before they are allowed to post ![]() I am cruel ![]()
