Discussion - Office Automation forum?

I haven't done much OLE Automation, but now I'm upgrading an old Access database and need to print Word templates with a little data filled in, directly from Access. With the help of a friend who has done more of this, it's working almost as I need it to, but it got me to thinking that maybe enough people are interested in this that it could be another forum here. Anybody else interested?

I like access for its simplicity but many a programmer make the mistake of
using it to develop this 'great' application only to find out
that it needs to be beefed up to meet customer demands.

Please cite more examples of Office Automation....

Not sure I entirely understand the comment, but in fact a lot of database reports can be handled much better by calling the functionality of Word, using fancy graphics, etc.

Another example is where you want to let the end user make some changes in the non-data appearance of the report so you don't have to spend time modifying your database app because somebody wants a different logo or font or something. With some precautions, a responsible user can edit a Word template. It's not always advisable, but sometimes is.

Another example is when you need to do some fancy graphing of database output. The built in Access graphing is very primitive, but it's easy to call Excel's graphing functions and render a very professional looking document.

But again, my suggestion (thanks, jmh) is just that perhaps there might be enough interest to open a new forum here.
