Reversal of Erroneous Rep Points...
I was wondering if there could be an option to reverse an erroneous entry for rep points (particularly if the error was de-repping someone). I have a couple thoughts on how this might work.
1. Allow only mods to reverse reputation (as there could be abuse if all members could do so). 2. Alternatively, have a confirmation dialog for de-repping. That way if it is selected by mistake, it can be changed before being added to a person's rep. Those are just a couple ideas. Thanks for this great forum and for listening ![]()

I think this would be a good idea. Many of us have accidentally selected the wrong radio button by mistake with horrible results. It would be nice to be able to reverse the action.

Sounds like a useful thing because there are many of us who have had our subconciousness change our decision for us

allowing moderators to reverse any entry is lots of work for the admins, hard
to believe the time needed for such task is worth the cause: after all, the amount of "wrong" entries is really minor and can be fixed by giving points later. anyhow, I agree that we should have confirmation dialog for de-repping, as it's usually extreme measure. ![]() |

Okay, I have a little different perspective than the rest of you for obvious reasons...
The reputation system has built in support for editing. By default, it is only enabled for admins, but it can be enabled for moderators quite easily using the built in settings. So that's not much of an issue since the code is already in place. Whether or not the admins choose to make that available to mods really doesn't matter to me. It happens so infrequently that a request to them usually gets it fixed if need be. (Although, typically, unless it's to remove offensive content, comment editing is really not that big of an issue, IMO). I do like the suggestion of having a confirmation though. I think that's a much better solution.
