Shout Box not working for Safari browser

The Shout Box is really cool addition and works great for IE and Firefox browser, but when viewed in Safari browser, it's not working - the text box is missing and so is the submit button... you can see screen shot one of the members has taken here:

Nothing I can do about that, its a standard hack for VB and apparently it was coded to work in ie/mozilla/firefox but not Safari

as I thought... well, Firefox do work for Mac so it's not fatal problem but still... isn't it something simple with some non standard css or javascript which can be fixed? you can raise the problem to the global DevShed as well - I assume that about 1% of the users use Safari, you can probably check the logs for more accurate count and it's for the best if they will have full access to the forums.

Hmm....I use Firefox and I get the same problem as that Safari user...I tried it in IE to see a difference, and it still didn't work...

I can see the shoutbox, I just can't see any place to type a shoutout...

works for me in both ie and firefox. make sure you have the latest vers of your browser and check your security settings as they could be set too high.

weird, it works for me on both browsers as well. don't have Safari, so can't say anything about it. maybe you simply have javascript disabled? maybe the box requires minimum amount of posts?

That sounds more likely. I've tested it at work on Firefox and IE, and at home on Safari and Firefox...it doesn't work anywhere for me. :shrugs:

In order to use the shout box you must have a minimum of 100 posts and been a member of the forum for 90 days. To prevent spammers.

That would explain it...I figured there was either a minimum post limit, minimum belt requirement, or a minimum reputation power.

well, belt is directly connected to post count but white belt is enough (100 posts) the main limit is being member for 90 days.
