Tabbed CODE blocks

It would be great if tabbed (indented) CODE samples were better maintained, especially after a thread is edited when most of the tabbed formatting disappears

If I've posted some code above, you might think it looks a bit simplistic. It might be. I'd rather people tried the next step themselves rather than getting a full solution on a plate. That way they learn more!

if you use the code tags doesn't it keep it?
i.e

// somthing like this

then when I edit it my tabs are kept etc.. or am I completely off here

yes I noticed this erratic behavior as well... couldn't really point at specific problem. but most of the times after I add code tags the original indentation is preserved.

Hadn't noticed this behaviour, but then I don't use tabs, only spaces to indent.

That's very true, even when you create code on some asp editors, you still end up missing out on some tabbing when you open this file in a text only editor such as notepad.

Maybe the thing happens to posts wrapped on [codel] tags.

It would be nice if this could be corrected.
If not, I'm ok with it

Agreed - it's not the end of the world. Maybe I'll change my editor to tab with spaces while I post code...

I've also noticed that the tabs appear (disappear!!) to be changed to single spaces, so I agree with Selwonk. It's not the end of the world really but it would be so so helpful if they were kept in place.

I think the belts are great and I wanna be a red belt too!!!! It does look pretty good. In fact, I wanna rainbow belt with a zippy!! (Get it?)

As for Avatars. I'm so jealous I haven't got one. I am posting though. I'm well chuffed I've been given some reputation points too.
