I have loaded VB6 on to a Windows XP machine. I started with building a Project1 on the VB using the Standard EXE. On the standard Project I am using the Form1 to build from. I moved a Data Icon over to the Form1. In going to the Properites I want to attach to the Data1 field my Excel data base. At first I started receiving a message the "Could Not Find Installable ISAM". I loaded SP6 on the PC along with MDAC. Now the attached file will not give me an error message. When I placed the Text box onto the Form1 and set the Properties for a specific field it now returns with the Message "Couldn't find Installable ISAM. Basically I am not connecting to my Excel database. What and how can I attach to the database using the Properties Window? I see varied items that discuss VB and how to set script. I find it is easier for me to use the Properties window. What is the proper procedure for building a VB6 object using data from an Acess DB./

If you search google for this error message you'll get lots of hits. I don't know what ones would apply in your case though.

You might try using our program which fixes this error. Other than that, it might be something with the string you have typed.
