MSDN Help Files
I just upgraded my computer and when I started installing Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise I found I was missing disk 1 of the MSDN. Apparently there were 2 disks for MSDN - All I have is disk 2.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of MSDN for Visual Studio 6.0. - I don't have any help files. |

Why are you still using Visual Studio 6? It's depreciated and VisualC++ 6.0 doesn't comply with the ISO C++ standard, whereas VisualC++ 7.0 and 7.1 does.
And instead of asking where you can get a copy of MSDN, why don't you ring up the place where you bought your Visual Studio from and ask for a replacement part. ...that is, of course, provided you legitimately purchased VS6 ![]() |

I use VS 6 myself. And this is a VB forum, not a C forum.
You can use MSDN Library disks from October 2001 or earlier if you want integrated help. Subsequent MSDN library disks will not hook into F1 type online help in VS6 though. I'd guess ebay should have MSDN cd's available. The help is all online too, at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library

Thanks for your for your responses Doug C and Phoenix. I have decided to go ahead and upgrade but I’m not sure if I’m going to upgrade the whole studio package or just the VB part. It’s so expensive! I was looking around for Visual Studio.net when all of a sudden I saw something about visual studio net 2 or something like that.
Just for the record – I do have a legitimate copies of all my software. |
