Exclamation muti record imput

I have been stuck with the task of making a database created by my predecessor more "user friendly" . I am using a "test number" as a referance number this is an auto number feild to keep track of calls coming into my call center can I some how log in multi "test numbers" if 1 cust calls in? example a store calls in and wants to send in 10 units the origanal call is "test number" 1000 can i reserve 1001-1009 with out entering eachone separatly? I am staggering through this and am need of some help. I dont know much code at all but am learning quickly. Any and all help is welcome thank you

What kind Database are you using? In Oracle, you can create a sequence specially uses to generate autoIDs, and assign the ID to each record after. In this case, if you want to reserve certain keys, just run the sequence certain number of times and reserve them. I think you can use same way if you using Access. Just make a table specially for AutoID generating. I'm not sure if you like this idea or not?

Multi Imputs

Anna,
I thank you for your reply. I am using An Access Database. Right now I have a comand button to copy a record and it works just fine, but I personally feel it is a crude way of doing it. Access is so powerful I assume I should be able to tell it that Customer "Bob" is sending back 5 units for repair and it would apply 5 new records to customer "Bob". Right now after the data is entered we hit my copy recoder button 4 times. Like I said it works but I would like to stream line it more.
Thanks
Chris
PS You folks have been great out here I thank you all

Well, it looks like all records have already been input on the screen before you hit the Copy button. This makes the problem simple. Because the number of the records can be determind before you trigger the Copy button. In this way, you can create a temparary "RecrodSet" variable to hold these records when you trigger the Copy button. Then let your code to save them (copy one at a time from this RecrodSet) to the database. It won't involve too much coding. Easer than create a "table" that I said before.
