I'm using VB5 to develop a program that uses an Access database. I had been using Acceess 97, but recently installed Office 2003, and made a database in Access 2003. When I began developing the program in VB I used the Wizard, pointed it to my new database, and VB said that the .mdb database is not recognized.
My question is, is the database format in Access 2003 a new one, not the same .mdb that can be used/recognized by VB5? Or am I doing something else wrong? Do I need to get VB6 or VB.net,, or go back to Access 97? TIA, zontar |

If you are using ADO, get the latest version from www.microsoft.com/data

Look Here
The MsAccess 2003 engine is the same as the MsAccess 2000, so it should work. Feel free to post back any additional questions you may have.

Is the Access 20003 engine the same as the Access 97 engine, which works with VB5?

No it's not. Visit www.microsoft.com/data for one place to get information on Microsoft's database drivers. |
