Hello, Im having a bit of trouble with my web site. I uploaded the site today only to find that it didnt turn out right on pc internet explorer. I designed it on my Mac where everything looked fine. Ive figured out its because certain browsers dont agree with background images. Ive used a lot of these in the cells of the tables on each page so that I can place text over the top of them. I would use an alternative but I havent found one as yet. I want the text done in Dreamweaver because it's useful when getting search engine interest. Has anyone got any ideas how I can use text over pictures that will still keep it compatible with most browsers? Please Help!!! |

CSS is an alternative, even do some browsers render some elements different.
Or specify the size of the tables and cells with percentage values. "I want the text done in Dreamweaver because it's useful when getting search engine interest." Didn't catch this one?? |

Generally background images do show up in pc IE, one thing to check though is where the background image is applied. If you're using tables, is it applied to the tr tag? the td tag? or the table tag? Just one thing to try out. I often use css, as it seems to be a little more cross-browser compatible at times, until you get into the css 2.0. Just a couple suggestions.
