Flash needs to be behind toggled div layer.

hello everyone!

the problem i am having is the flash on my homepage (575x500) is right beneath the header navigation and to the right of the left navigation.

the "header navigation" is a row of 5 images. when they are moused over, a div layer is toggled to 'on' (using javascript -- i can provide code if necessary) and acts as a drop down.

now enter the problem -- the 'mouseover' still happens, but it flows *behind* the flash. the div layers are absolutely positioned, and their code was at the bottom of the page - i tried moving their code to above the flash file (in hopes that it would be *in front* of the flash, but alas, no luck).

anyone have any pointers to get my div layers in front of the flash file?

thanks!!

problem with flash is that it is external just like acrobat pdf etc, so it dont matter what you do to order the display it will allways be a problem, you could maybe try having an iframe with its source being the flash, this may work, also you may try and actually make your menu flash and have it all as one item

this sparks another question -- i notice more and more that people are able to expand flash *outside* the conventional border of the embeded file (mostly advertisments that go from the right/left banner to the center of the page) -- how is this done?

that might be the best way to get my ultimate goal...

thanks!!

i take it your on about yahoo etc where the flash banners expand over the web

this is a flash file that is that wide and is just transparent in that area, with some css and javascript they make a div that floats in that area, when you activate the flash it expands to fill the area given.

as far as i can work out, however i could be wrong!
