Meta Tags
Hello Its been a while since i have built a website, and i have just built a cool site in Flash. I need created some meta tags and i can't remember how i can get my site onto a google search engine etc.... I can't remember if i have to pay for the privilage or if my tags are rubbish?

as far as i know u can pay google etc but its just if the crawlers pick up your site i have built a site and just through carefull development and key words etc i was no1 google. just give it time

o and idealy for a website to be picked up by the search engine crawlers its best built in HTML as i belive they dont pickup flash. i may be wrong but that my opinion

Add the following tags to the head section of your page:

Do a search in google for free web promotion. I wouldn't pay for web promotion unless you expect to make a lot of money off the site and even then I would be careful which one I decided to pay for. It could cost anywhere from $100 - $700 depending on what you want. Try searching for pay-per-click, pay-per-impression and overture on google. You should find more then enough information to confuse and frustrate you even further. Happy reading.

I thought google used a different algorithm when it came to indexing a website (i.e hyperlink popularity).

As for flash, yes flash can look fantastic however it's not the best if you want to rank highly in the search engines. If it's a simple banner animation that doesn't take the whole website then go for it, but as for the guys who create ALL in flash... I pity there clients rankings.

We have a client through work (I'm a web developer), and he does the pay-per-click through GOOGLE, and man it can cost you $1,000s... be very careful.
