Use of tables in css template

Use of tables in css template

Hi,

I've built my website using a tables-based template and now I want to engage someone to make a css version of it for me, with a couple of little changes.

As I'm so useless at web-design, I'd like to keep using tables within the content div - that way I can easily make modifications using my basic tables-based skills.

Could someone please tell me whether it's ok to mix tables & css? I realise that it may sound a stupid question but I've no experience of css and am asking simply so that I know what to expect when I place an ad asking for someone to rebuild my template. Don't want to make too much of a fool of myself (although I may well have just done so!).
