Automatic Backup of Network floppy drive?

hi.

i am a system admin.. actually floppy's have become non-reliable so what i want to do is when our employee's use the floppy to edit the files of whatever i want to store a copy of it so incase the floppy fails later we have a backup.but i want to make the backup on the server becuase it has a lot of memory so i want to backup a shared floppy drive automatically to the server without any intervention so even if someone puts in a floppy when i am not around it should make a backup immediately.?
is there any way to do that

hi there,

i am not sure that there is a way to automatically backup every floppy that a user puts in the machine but tbh you wouldn't want that just incase one of the disks had a virus on...

A much better way would be to encourage all users to backup the floppy themselves on their machine and then transfer to the server! Checking for viruses first of course

i am 99% sure there is not a way to do what you want. Having a program run whenever a CD is inserted then that might be possible but not floppies as they are not detected on load. The user would still have to run a program to backup the disk.

Any if you are running a network properly then you should be more worried about viruses!

i don't know of any, and if there were you would have it running in the background of the machine all the time...using up system resources...seems a little wasteful to me.
