Can I Switch From Vista to Xp ?
I have a newish laptop

Intel Duo T7300 2Ghz
Geforce 8600m GS 256MB
2048MB DDR2 Ram
160 GB SATA Hard Drive

Windows Vista.....

Vista = ****e for gaming all my direct x 9 games fps lag like god knows what.

So, is it possible, and safe to uninstall Vista, and install a fresh copy of Windows xp Home Edition

My parts of my laptop will work with xp ???

or will my new laptop not work with WIndows Xp ?

Welcome to the forums

I have yet to see hardware not be compatible with XP, even if
your pc was preinstalled with Vista.

My suggestion would be to reinstall the OS using the format option.

Install XP and your woes will be gone.

Don't listen to lewy, he doesn't know what he's talking about I'm just kidding of course. In fact, I agree with lewy. XP comes has been compatible with everything I threw at it, and most likely drivers will be available. You will probably have to format, as lewy suggested, so be sure to backup any data that you have.

An answer to your question is absolutely, you can install Windows XP Professional or Home edition. Here are your drivers depending on your system. Let me know if these aren't your system:
