I Cannot get to my own web page !!!!
I have a sever using Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. My ISP is Roadrunner (Cable) that is hooked-up to the server. Then I three network computers connected via network cables to the server. The internet works great on all computers. I can get to any web page ( CNN, Yahoo, google,..., etc.) except my own web page wich is "http://www.coreconsolidated.com" I cannot get my own web page on the three network computers, however I can get my own web page on the server computer. Why does this happen? How do I get my own web page on the three network computers? Is there more tests that can be run to provide more info. ? Thank You Bob Whitman boomer@iwaynet.net ================================================== == PS: Below I tried to provide more info and run tests. ================================================== ================== Hi! Just a few questions... What role have you assigned to the server? Applications Server or something else? **** We are using the server only for the Roadrunner hook-up. **** There are no Applications on the server. Where are you getting DNS? Do you have your own DNS Sever? Who hosts the DNS record? **** We have one computer that is the server **** and it is running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. **** What is DNS, DNS Sever and hosts the DNS record ? **** How do I get this info. **** Are there network commands that get this info. What happens when you try to PING by name www.coreconsolidated.com ? Does PING by name resolve to the correct server? **** Ran PING by name and this didnot correct the server problem!!! Do you have a default page set for the website ? **** www.coreconsolidated.com is the default website. **** I changed the default website to www.cnn.com **** This didnot correct the problem. What is the error message you receive when trying to access the page, 404 or somehting else? **** The info is below. Do you mean you cannot access it internally/externally or both? **** The info is below. Good luck, please post more information. **** The info is below. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PS: Also tried the following tests: On the Server ------------- "http://www.coreconsolidated.com" works great on the sever ping www.coreconsolidated.com works ok and I get IP address =====> 166.226.64.3 I tried =====> http://166.226.64.3 in Internet Explorer 6.0 The results was "Nothing Here" --------------------- On a Network computer --------------------- "http://www.coreconsolidated.com" results ====> can't find www.coreconsolidated.com ping www.coreconsolidated.com =====> Unknown host www.coreconsolidated.com I tried =====> http://166.226.64.3 in Internet Explorer 6.0 The results was as follows: The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. |

I think this is because the DNS server also had role as
DHCP server..so that you can not view your page through LAN.. |
