Hi
I have a question and really don’t know if I can get an answer from this site !! We are going to change our platform from NT to Unix and i have to prepare myself for this step, first I’m hosting a website and use IIS as a web server, so I don’t know if I change the platform, is there something should be changed ? Is there any article can help me to gain some knowledge about UNIX? Thanks |

for one, you'll have to install different software.
for example: http://www.sun.com/software/chilisoft/ |

You only need sun one if you have asp pages you need to run on *nix. You won't need to change much if anything to move html, css, images, and php to a *nix server. You'll most likely be using apache as the web server in *nix.
Why not grab an old computer and get a version of linux to get started with getting familiar with *nix, and to use as a development test system? Preferably get the same distribution of unix as you're planning to use. There are countless sites with information on *nix. I'd start with the home site for the distribution you are using.
