Smile Cisco router

hi,
if i have only 1 router, how many subnet can i create?
i know it got to do with subnet mask, but phyiscally how am i going to assign the subnet?

if i have 1 router, i will have E0,E1,S0,S1.
which means S0 can connect to ISP, E0 connect to my server1 and E1 connect to my server2. in another words, can i say that i have 3subnets here?

if i want to add another one router then i will connect it to S1 of the first router, am i right to say that?

pls guide, tks alot!

gertoh.

Hmm, not sure of your exact needs. If you have four network interfaces, you can create four physical networks. You can create as many logical networks as you need. What I would do is connect S0 to your ISP and then use E1 as your local network.

e0 216.216.216.0 255.255.255.0
e1 198.1.96.0 255.255.255.0
s0 198.2.96.0 255.255.255.0
s1 198.3.96.0 255.255.255.0
These would be your four physical networks.

Then on s1 you could also have a secondary ip address of something like 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0.

You really have many options to choose from.
