Csrss.exe using all my resources
I ran several adware,malware & virus scanners to no avail. I can't seem to fix this. I found 5 files on computer when I did a search.
1 in C:\Windows$NTservicepackuninstall$
1 in C:\windows\Prefetch.
1 in c:\windows\system32
1 in C:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386
1C:\windows\softwareDistirbution\Download\16b2c96a 0c41f4dfdb4d3cc228a4f819

Is this normal and can someone please help me.

Okay, let me try to address these things one at a time.

As Shadow Wizard has mentioned, you need to get that virus off of there. Everything else on your HijackThis log looks good.

As far as the folder locations you have listed......I'm assuming they're for csrss.exe. If so, then that's fine too.

Now. It shouldn't be using all of your resources. There are a number of viruses and trojans that replace this file with their own. This may be the case. Try running sfc /scannow from the Run... dialog.

Thanks Shadow Wizard. I ran highjack this & thought I would post logfile again. I rebooted and still have csrss using 80-90% resources. I tried to run sfc / scannow like nilpo told me to but when I type it in and hit ok a black window pops up goes away & nothing happens. Also do I need to leave system restore off for now? I really appreciate your help!
