Deleted user...please help!!

so, i accidently deleted a user from the computer. is there any way that i can restore said deleted user? i know next to nothing about computers. PLEASE HELP!

What version of Windows are you using? If the user's folders are still available (i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\username) then it would be possible to recreate the user account and then give ownership of those folders to the new account.

it says windows 2000 professional

how exactly did you delete the user accidently? If you accidently deleted the folder, then it is in recycle bin and can be restored. If you emptied the recycle bin, then you will want to download some 3rd party undelete software. When you delete something, it's not instantly erased from the hard drive. I know in the FAT file system it erases the entry from the file allocation table, and erases the first character of the file/folder name, but not the file itself

I didn't actually delete anything. my boss did and now i have to deal with it. it is not in the recycle bin.

in that case you're in luck.... create a new user and assign ownership of the old user folder to the new user.
