Dual booting

Hi Guys..

I bought a new Sony Vaio with windows vista..business ver.

But am facing some problems like webcam not working...

So i am planing to install WinXP on my system ...as dual booting...Is it possible to do this..if yes how..

If not i decided to format my system and load windows xp a fresh...Is it possible...? or is there any problem...with this approach..

I am not able to install a few important softwars on Vista as they were not compatable with OS.. Please help..

You need to install it to a secondary harddrive and boot from a boot menu.

Search this on google, there are many examples that are well documented.

well actually, you just need to shave your partition and make a new partition to install xp to. Note!! I do not usually recommend a novice or beginner to attempt to resize/move/delete/create partitions, so any action taken by you is on your own accord. This isn't a difficult task to do, but when you are messing with partitions, there's always a chance that you might do something that could render your installation unusable.

Well true, thats why I just said put it on a slaved harddrive and save some of the trouble.

sbenj69 agrees: I really don't care much for dual boot systems anyway, unless it was like Mac OS and Windows.
