Unhappy file permissions creating empty file

Having set up a user in XP Pro with read and write permissions I have found a problem.

If the user tries to do a 'save as' command from either wordpad or notepad then an empty file is first created and the user is prompted to overwrite this file when they actually save it.

This does not happen if the user is given full control over the folder?

Has anyone come across this before?

Any advice welcome

Thanks

Tim

i tried many things and could not get the same results, google searched untill i my eyes hurt. if you do resolve the issue, if it is from a setting in office, or other third party software that has caused this. this does seem to be a odd problem. so please let us know anymore developments or solutions you have with this.
