Is it possible to add a password to a individual folder in XP. I can add a password to an XL file but not to a windows folder.

Kind of...
If you disable Simple File Sharing. To do this go into My Computer...Tools...Folder Options...View tab....Right at the bottom, untick "Use simple file sharing"...Then Click Apply/OK... Then navigate to your folder, right click on it and select Sharing and Security...On the security tab, you can select who can access the folder. Anyone not given permission will get a warning saying they do not have permission when they try to access it. Depending on how you have your users set up depends who you give permission to. Try this for further info. Hope that helps.

The NTFS file system that ships with XP and later versions of Windows provides two different methods for protecting folders. You should choose between the two based on the level of security that you need.
The first method is to make the folder Private. This means that its content can only be accessed while the owner is logged on. In order to do this, you must have File Sharing enabled.
