How to use fdisk: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255867
If you have a partition on your hard drive that has your operating system files saved on it, then you won't need your Windows disk if you know the key to hit when the system is first booting up...other wise, you are out of luck. Any particular reason you're still running Windows Me?

Who manufactured your pc? If you're lucky, they might have given you the Windows installation on the hard disk. If so, you don't need to use fdisk. The Windows XP setup program allows you to create partitions and format the hard disk. |

If it's windows me, I think it still saved the files in cabs...... C:\Windows\Options\Cabs, but you wouldn't want to fdisk as this would erase the drive.... Windows XP automatically partitions the drive, and you don't need fdisk, as jmh said.
If you lost your XP disk, then there's not much hope, unless, again, as jmh stated, they put the OS in a separate partition. When I say "not much hope", I mean, you will need to purchase another copy of XP. Is there a reason you need to wipe and load?
