Question HP 1200 series Multifunction

Hello fellow members,

I have a weird printer issue I would like some assistance on. I installed an HP 1200 series printer on a Toshiba Notebook as Local Administrator. Normally, this would allow all other users on the machine use the printer if I add the printer as the user.

The weird part:
When I log on as the administrator, the printer will print. If I log on as a network user of my domain "xxxxxxxx," the file is sent to the printer, the printer processes it, and then nothing happens.

Basically, everyone who is not adminstrator will not be allowed to print. I then went to printer properties to check the security settings. The Group "Everyone" is allowed to Print. I then went to check the printer table, printed a test file and I noted that the printer receives the file, Staus says it's printing, but nothing comes out. Keep in mind that it works perfectly as Local Administrator.

I have also tried uninstalling it, reinstalling. I don't know enough about Microsoft Security Settings, but I think this has something to do security/rights issues.

Please let me know if there is anything else you all can think of, this little problem is annoying me. Thanks.

Have you ever found a solution to this issue?

We are having the same problem with 2 of these units.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

What OS are you using? Some OSs like windows 2000 require that you have the user trying to use the network resource be part of the users who can log on to the machine sharing the printer.
