IE6 problem loading page..
Ok, here's the problem.
We run all dell machines preloaded with Windows XP Professional with SP2. We run IE 6 as our browser. Our older machines connect to a specific page on our website and everything loads fine. On our new (within the past three months) have troubles loading the same page. Note: This is the only page they have a problem loading. Other websites load just fine as well All machines have Office 2000 Pro and Accounting on them. Some machines (both old and new) have ACT on them. I have a feeling it's either a windows setting or an IE6 setting. Any ideas? Note: I have corrected this problem on one of the new machines by rebuilding the Operating system but I don't want to have to rebuild them all. Thanks.... |

Well, if you want some help from someone like me then you'll have to explain what you mean by "a problem loading".

yep I agree, "have troubles loading the same page" have too
many possible meanings. you see blank page? you see any error? you get blue screen of death? or maybe the computer just catch fire? what you ask is like this: "my dog ate last night. now he's ill. please make him healthy". without knowing what he ate, there's no chance of helping. |

If it's happening for a single page, describe the page as well.
Does it contain scripting? If so...what and what is its function?

OK, there are no evident errors as far as messages go. There are no scripts on the website only 14-18k pics that are having a problem downloading.. (they appear to download forever before they finally put the boxed x place holder.) this happens with or without our Virus software loaded, I thought it may have been the live scan. I have 30 other systems that don't have this problem and from what I can tell, nobody outside the LAN has a problem. The 4 machines in question are all new Dell's with Windows XP preloaded, which is what leads me to believe it has to be a setting in windows somewhere. This isn't a major problem but I would like to see if there is a way to resolve before I bring in 8 new systems as replacements for some older hardware. Again thanks.. |

maybe this is Firewall issue, that is blocking the traffic from the website.
maybe this is fancy anti trojan program that mistakenly identify the images as malicious content and block it. maybe the browser settings block images - look in the Advanced tab somewhere. also, try loading the website with Firefox or IE7 just for the sake of debugging to see if the problem is IE6 only. |
