Laptop screen issues...
This seems really weird to me, but whenever I go to move the screen of my laptop towards the keyboard to close it or whatever and the computer is still on, it goes into some mode...it wont turn back on manually afterward, it automatically goes back on when the screen is back up for like 2 minutes...but it's really annoying, i have to be careful carrying it around and stuff so i dont lose everything im working on.
I'm running a Dell Inspiron 1000, anyone know whats up? It worked fine when I bought it about a year ago... |

You can pose statements as questions.
When a statment gains the question delimiter, the person posing the question assumes the statement to be true and is seeking confirmation. Consider: "did you fix the window?" or "you fixed the window, right?" The latter is semantically identical to "you fixed the window?" |

Well, this isn't something as simple as that. I don't think it has anything to do with the OS whatsoever. If I move the screen forward any (even a centimeter), the display disappears and wont come back unless you wait a while and then my data's all gone. So often, bumping the computer desk or whatever is fatal. I'm sorry if this is hard to understand... |

Probably is, and I just lost about 20 minutes worth of scripting .And no, I haven't talked to Dell yet. I was just seeing if you guys would have heard about this before or something. Good thing I chose to get a 3 year full warranty with my computer when I bought it. |

Hi, Ive had a problem similar to this on an old Dell laptop. It turned out to be a poor connection where the LCD screen connects to the contacts (down each side of the screen) that provide the information to the screen itself. I usually found that squeezing down each side of the screen would revive the screen for a while, but it would disappear again. Probably a good idea to talk to Dell if you have a 3 year warranty. ![]() |
