Microsoft office running extremely slow

Hi I've recently done a server migration where I have created a new windows 2000 domain and needed to create each users profiles again. Since doing the server migration users have complained about how slow their machine is with Microsoft Office, opening files etc. I am not sure whether their profiles have been corrupt, but I sort of need a quick fix to make the users happy.

Kind regards

Va

Ditto

I have the same problem, we have a simple network here, we all us MS Office 2000, and I'm having trouble opening forms and databases on MSaccess, simple 1 page files in word take several seconds to open (as much as 8 to 12 seconds, with word already open, I'll select the filepen option, click the file and the CLOCK STARTS TO TICK!, think thats not long for a 1 paragraph document, count to 10 right now!) same problems with publisher, and adobe software too.

I'm constantly runniing virus scans and protection, I suppose it could be that but I think not. I did run a defrage a few days ago and the cpu seemed to work fine for a day or two, someone please help!

Are you using roaming profiles and what level of AD are you using? (NT-Compatible, Native, 2003-Only, etc...)

My home has it's own AD and I've had no issues with Office 2003 over TermServ on 2003 and XPSP2.

Have a look at the netlogon service too, could be DNS issues... for instance, I trust that at least one of your domain controllers is a DNS server. Remember, 2000 doesn't have "Primary/Backup Domain Controllers", all DCs are equal in 2000 and above.
