My Documents Problem
Hey everyone, so I accidently got a virus onto my computer, but I couldn't clear the harddrive, I really needed an project I kept in my documents. So I went into system recovery, and it said that it would replace all the system files without damaging any of my files. Sounds great. So I do this, but when It restarts me it gives me a new account. I think to myself well hey no problem. I go into My computer, and click documents and settings. I click my old user names 'my documents', and it says: access denied, this is a read only folder or you do not have permission to access it.
Is there a way I can get into my old my documents folder? |

okay I spent a while studying how to get this working and I finally did it. I know the stress value involved when you loose all your important files, and I am so happy knowing that I have them back.
If anyone is experiancing the same problems as me, email me a detailed summary of whats going on and I'll see if I can help. - Devonmartin9@hotmail.com |

Glad you're up and running, but let me clarify the proper method of fixing this problem for our Google friends.
You needed your new account to take ownership of the file. How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP |
