Need to recover file
Hello,
I've erased accidentally a file on NTFS (Windows XP) that is valuable for me. I need to restore it. What tool is the most reliable one to use, as I want maximum chances of restore? |

In all reality, on NTFS, any tool you choose will most likely have excellent results. NTFS is very friendly in that respect. Truth be told, it's actually hard to lose file intentionally!
Unless you plan on spending a couple hundred dollars, all the programs you choose from would be about the same. Just google for a free one. If it doesn't work, grab another. I've had good results with Ontrack's EasyRecovery. Just grab the trial version. Stellar Phoenix is a phenominal program, but doesn't offer trial functionality, and Handy Recovery's trial period is 30 days. For fully free software, try NTFS Undelete.

Have heard many possitive comments about getdataback.
And haf very negative experince with freewares. I've installed somehow one (to partition my HDD), and it took a couple of weeks to bring data back. If i were u i'd spend (a) little. |

To be honest, data recovery is one of my specialties. I've been offering my recovery services to my corporate clients for several years. I do have several commercial recovery products that I use, however, in the case of accidental or unintentional deletion on NTFS, there are very few freewares that won't work.
