Hi there Guys, just need a little help with a problem that we have been having.
We are running a 400 user NT based network and use local printers for all of the users printing requirements. All printers are networked in the following mannor.
Local Printers
Port: \\<Print Server>\<printer name>
e.g \\ccoprt01\LIN16
Using HP - HP Laser 4 Driver
Everything prints fine, no problems there. However we do seem to be having some issues when our main app server goes down for a restart or for what ever reason. Once the server comes back up again no one can print to any of there printers even though nothing has been changed.
The work around for this is to re-create each printer whioch seems to resolve the problem. We have created a VB script to complete this but unfortunatley this will only work on Win200 and XP enviroments, not NT.
As we have over 280 printers attached to this server manually re-creating each printer is not an option.
Can anyone shaed some light on the possible ause of this problem or a way in which we man be able to isolate the cause.
Thanks and any info would be gratly appreicated.
