When I attach multiple MS office files to an email, the files extensions/file names sometimes swap. In other words, if I attach a word file and an excel file, they will swap names and/or extensions. The excel will have the .doc extension and word file will have .xl extension. Or if I attach 2 word files, they will swap names. The files are being attached to the email from a network drive. I have no problem when they are attached from the local machine.

That's a new one on me. Easiest workaround solution would be to copy the files to the local hard drive and email them from there, deleting them off the local drive if necessary afterward.

that would be a possible solution but users here are not willing to take that as a solution. They want it to work correctly. They don't want a work around, they want a solution.
Could their be a problem with file server settings? Or mail server? thanks Mark |

Frankly, I don't know... that's not something that is supposed to happen, obviously. What mail server, file server you using?
It isn't a malware issue, I trust? Last edited by Dngrsone : January 23rd, 2006 at 06:10 PM. |
