Question Problem resizing windows explorer

For some unknown reason within the past week or so I am not able to re-size the explorer window. I've tried various tips found in other forums, but none worked (like holding ctrl key & exiting, holding shift key & closing it, etc.) The folder options-view-like current folder does nothing!) I'm looking for a reg hack. I found 1 for xp, but it wasn't applicable to win2k!

Since I found an answer to another folder problem at this forum, I figured those here are maybe a little smarter!

Can't find any virus, trojans, malware, etc. Even ran rootkitrevealer with no luck. Don't know what changed it, don't really care, would just like to be able to re-set the window size again!

I can't even set it to the defaults! Anyone know of a hack to correct this problem? the window opens very large & very square! A real annoyance.

Thanx!

Is explorer full screen, minimized, or in a window now?

It always pops up as a large square taking up about 40% of the screen & I can re-size it during a session, but it won't hold it's settings if I close it. Every explorer window is the same size. I logged in under another admin account & the problem doesn't exist there, which leads me to believe there is a reg files screwed up or missing! Sooo.. I'm basically looking for a reg hack since I've tried about 8-10 suggestions from others. Found a hack for XP with the same problem, but those reg keys don't exist in win2k pro.

Any ideas? Thanx!

You wouldn't happen to be running a Dell OEM Windows installation, would you?

Unsurprising that you were running a Dell. I've had your problem too, it's to do with OEM drivers and other "pooware".

Are you using anything like the "Dell (keyboard) hotkey driver" ?
