Remote Desktop Connection authentication
Windows Server 2003 // Remote Desktop Connection
Our ISP provides me with RDP (Remote Desktop Connection) on our server. This is authenticated with the usual Windows login, but for extra security they also restrict access to the server by IP I need to access the server from home on occassion. I am on NTL broadband (UK) and I am therefore unable to get a fixed IP. I understand that RDP can be authenticated using some sort of client/server certificate method. Does anybody have any experience of this? Thanks in advance

I use RDP with my Terminal Server (no way I'd ever touch Remote Desktop
) at home.... The only authentication system I'm aware of is the standard Logon session transmitted over Terminal Services. The authentication is integrated with Active Directory (AD is one of TS' underpinnings anyway) |
