Smallest Foot Print Windows Version
I have purchased an ASUS laptop with only flash memory of 8 gb.
It currently has a version of Linux installed, but I think I'd like to go with a slimmed down version of windows. I currently use XP on all my other machines.
Question is what is the smallest footprint Version available of windows that will give basic wireless networking, basic word processing, internet access (I use Firefox now)?

Windows XP takes a little less than a Gigabyte. Windows 98 uses around 300MB if I'm not mistaken. You probably will not find drivers for 98 though. You might look into Windows XP Tablet edition.

I think this will really help me thanks. I tried finding the symbol you mentioned but couldn't. I'll give you credit where ever you like just help me find where.

Windows 98 - 140-255 MB Hard drive space
Windows 2000 - 650 - 1000 MB Hard drive space
Windows XP - 680 - 1560MB Hard drive space
Windows Vista - 15000 - 40000 MB Hard drive space (15GB - 40GB)
