Hi guys,
This is my first post in the forum, so if i seem like a noob it's cause i am! OK - so i have an issue. My computer was running the auto update for XP SP2 the other day, then crashed while it was in the middle of it. now, it won't boot at all from that harddrive. i have tried using the boot from last good config option, no luck. tried using the repair option when you boot off the XP cd.. again, no luck. it gets stuck at 50% on that too. please please please don't tell me my HD is dead, cause it has all my uni stuff on it, and all my outlook, etc. i dont' care if i can't recover it to be a XP booting HD, but I just want to be able to plug it into another HD and be able to access outlook so that i can make a .PST and also get into access my files so i can chuck them on to another HD. Can someone please help me!!! Grace |

You may be able to uninstall SP2 if you can boot your PC to DOS then type:
dir c:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst Press "Enter" key then type: spuninst.exe Press "Enter" key This may allow your computer to boot to XP again. Hope this helps! |

If you have another computer, run your Hard Drive as a Slave in the other computer.
OR Reformat your whole computer then install XP (Reformating will remove ALL of your files and data) Good luck you'll need it Zac |
