Starting Application After Login
Hey guys,
I am looking for a site giving details of how to make a program run after login. I want it to start up before the user sees the taskbar, then once the user accepts what it says it will close again and will happen again until the Administrator dictates. I am pretty sure I will have to edit the registry but google is returning stuff I don't understand (GNOME etc), or details about how to stop programs doing this. Davie

One way is to set up a login script, I think you can do that even if your not in a domain.

Thanks Doug, everything would be handled by the main server (eventually) as and the data given to the workstation the very instance of login.
Well, that's not strictly true. Upon logon my application will check to see if the user has to do anything from records in a DB, and if they do then it will retrieve the data and show itself before the user profile is fully loaded. If you know of any links to do something like that it would be greatly appreciated |

if you can change the registry, look here:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/launch_...ms_at_login.htm otherwise, just add your program to the Startup folder. ![]() |

If you're on XP Pro, the proper method is to use Group Policies.
