Unavailable Reference to Logical Drive

Hi experts

I used some software to lock my drive, i by mistake lost that software. i am not able access the drive now. It is giving me a error msg:

"G:\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a Hard drive in this computer, or on a network. check to make sure the disk is properly inserted, or that your connected to internet or your network, and then try again. if it is still not located, the information might have been moved to a different location."

G:\ drive is my local logical drive. can anyone tell me the methodolgy, that can make this error message appear. or any method to come out of this problem. Please help asap. as i am having some important data present in it.

Have you tried going into safe mode to access the Drive?

I have done that to. But still its not working for me.

Unfortunately, it appears the software has done its job as advertised-- you will have to get another copy of the software and hope you have the appropriate keys handy in order to access that data.

Do you know what software you used? This could be helpful information. If we know what software, we may be able to determine what method it uses.

yeah i know that software's name, it was 'folder lock' software a demo version. i have no sources of it now. so kindly give any methods come out of it

Thank you very much thats the software which i used to lock. now i am able to unlock it. Do you have any idea how can software do that, as i am really amazed to see that. if you know how it can be done then please do share it.

This software uses a number of methods depending on what options you use. Some of them include ACL (Access Control Lists), encryption, and NTFS permissions, among others. Password protection may include either encryption, compression, or both.
