Upgrade problem
I am trying to upgrade my older computer so that I can run new software. This computer is not connected to the internet. I have Windows XP Home addition on the computer and I am trying to add service pack 3. I went to the microsoft site and downloaded windows XP-KB936929-sp3-x86-ENU.exe on to a CD-RW. When I put the CD in the CD reader on my computer I got the following error message "windows XP-KB936929-sp3-x86-ENU.exe is not a valid win32 application". What does this mean and what do I do next. - Reek

Did you download the network installation? (the large file) as there are two ways of downloading SP3. Also are you running it from the CD? of so try copying it to the desktop...
Not entirely sure but would be a couple of first questions ![]() RF

SP 3 Installation problem

Thank you RadioactiveFrog for your help. Yes I am running it from the CD. I will try to move the program to the desktop and run from there, but first, how can I determine if it is the network version? |
