weird video/colour system
Hi all,
I installed this app http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/312 its a wallpaper changer. I uninstalled it again after about 5 minutes, and then my wallpaper pixelated I even made a 1600*1200 image my background it was still crappy. Now when I watch any mpg/avi file, the colour is all weird, like someone is shining a spot-light on everything I have tried to play it with window media player, VLC Player, both are not working but if I play it with the Divx 2 Player it works, but the sound is gone on some of them. I have uninstalled my screen drivers and codecs and reinstalled them and the latest 77.** drivers from NVidia, no luck Does anyone know how to fix this?

ummm ... strange behavior
what OS are you using ? Xp ? if you are using xp, try running "sfc /scannow" from the run prompt and see if it helps. (you might need your xp disk in the tray for this) try saving the following as a .vbs and running it Code:
Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
objshell.ShellExecute "regsvr32.exe", "/i shell32"
objshell.ShellExecute "regsvr32.exe", "/i MSHTML.DLL"
objshell.ShellExecute "regsvr32.exe", "/i SHIMGVW.DLL"
sounds like you may also need to re-install some codec packs to solve the behavior problems with your media players. |

Glad you found a solution... even happier to see you follow up and post a solution
![]() The script i gave you is just a simple one, to restore wall paper views. It was a long shot, but it had worked long back.. i save these scripts that work.. and try and figure em later. I got it form a site about a year ago.. cant remember which. The website you got that wallpaper changer fropm checked out, infact they have a couple of pretty decent apps. Perhaps you should let em know ![]() Have a nice day ![]() |

Its not the app that caused it, it seems, one my friends also had the same error, without installing the app, maybe I just updated my drivers on the same day
