Why is mouse pointer acting strange in Windows XP?
Goodday,
My mouse pointer is acting extremely wierd at times. At times when I go to navigate the mouse around the screen,page..etc it will jump to the top bottom or sides of the screen as though it where locking/snap to the screen border. The best way to describe this is when you use lock or snap to guides in photosho, Illustrator or othr design programs (the snapp effect) Is this a windows bug or is there something I can do to rectify this? Thank you |

Is the snap to option selected in the mouse properties? To check, go to the Control Panel, double-click Mouse, select Pointer Options tab, and then check to see if Snap To is selected or not.

That option is to jump the pointer to the Default button in forms, not to the edges of the screen. |

Maybe perhaps it's a mouse sensitivity issue? Also, what type of mouse is it? I remember a time when I had a mouse with balls, no pun intended, when the ball had dirt on it, I would get a similar effect. This may be way out there but maybe it will help. |

Or if you have a cordless mouse and the batteries are going dead, it may do the same thing. Never had that happen really, except when my computer had too many things running at once.
